Count Kontatras has one of those mechanics that looks simple until your turn starts and you suddenly cannot remember whether to target the tile you see, the tile from before the turn, or the tile after the rotation. If you have also attacked in melee, the confusion can change again.
That is why we built the Count Kontatras simulator. It does not play the fight for you. It takes the important turn data, applies the rotation and shows the tile you should use as your reference.
What problem does it solve?
The rotation depends on the health range at the start of the turn, not only on your current health. Each melee hit adds another 90-degree turn. Trying to remember that while watching the board and the rest of the fight is an easy way to lose a turn.
What should you mark?
Starting health
Use the health your character had when the turn began. Choose the matching range in the simulator.
Melee hits
Enter every melee hit made during that turn. Each one adds 90 degrees.
Player and target
Use the Player and Target tools on the board. Left click marks the player and right click marks the target on desktop; mobile buttons are also available.
The rotation table
Each melee hit adds 90 degrees. The result is normalized automatically, so you do not need to convert the angles yourself.
Quick examples
Example 1: full starting health and no melee hit gives 90°. Example 2: 74–45% health and one melee hit gives 180° + 90° = 270°. Example 3: 29–0% health and two melee hits gives 90° + 180° = 270°.

Step by step
- Select the room map.
- Choose the starting health range.
- Enter melee hits.
- Mark the player tile.
- Mark the target tile.
- Use the highlighted result tile and check the path.
Use Clear marks to start again or Restore map when changing rooms.
What it does not replace
You still need to check line of sight, spell range, obstacles, tackle and movement. The simulator calculates the rotation and target tile; it does not cast the spell or predict another player's movement.
Common mistakes
- Using current health instead of starting health.
- Forgetting a melee hit.
- Marking the target before its displacement.
- Confusing a calculated tile with guaranteed line of sight.
- Not resetting the map between rooms.
Open the simulator before the fight, select the map and update the marks when your turn begins. We built it to make the mechanic easier to understand, not to hide the calculation behind a black box.
